When should a man consider a penile implant if he has Peyronie's disease

Peyronie's often coexist with erectile dysfunction(ED) which can affect the treatment plan. If there is no ED or only mild ED(responds to pills) men may respond to something called Xiaflex which involves a series of injections into the penis to breakdown scar tissue.

If the ED is moderate or severe then Xiaflex which straightens the penis will likely not bring improvement the man's erections. In these cases the man may want to consider a penile implant which will address bother the curvature and erectile dysfunction at the same time. 

The rigid cylinders of the penile implant often straighten the penis on their own but if they don't at the time of surgery your surgeon can make additional steps to give you a straight penis with functional erections.
