How Does Greenlight Work?

The Greenlight laser allows Dr. DeLay to open your urinary channel by vaporizing the excess prostate tissue.

How is the Procedure Performed?

Outpatient

  • Done in the hospital or ambulatory surgery center
  • General Anesthesia
  • Most patients go home the same day

What Should I Expect After?

  • Typically will require a catheter for 1 day.
  • Once the catheter is removed it is normal to have burning with urination, frequent urination, and slow stream for several weeks.
  • These symptoms will slowly improve and by one month you should notice a significant improvement.
  • Most men who have this process will experience retrograde ejaculation where no fluid is expelled during orgasm(sensation is almost always the same).
